HarvestingThe NTC group harvesting operations are situated in the Vologda and Arkhangelsk regions. After the "Severlesprom" acquisition, NTC will harvest more than 1 million m3 of round timber annually. The main products of the harvesting units are a wide range of coniferous and foliaceous saw logs, veener logs, coniferous and foliaceous pulpwood. We deliver our products to various destinations such as the Baltic countries, Western Europe, Scandinavia and domestically to the largest users in Russia. One of the strategic advantages of the group is its capacity to provide a limited but stable supply of saw logs to the group woodworking mills. "Kipelovo Forestry Enterprises" (KFE) is one of the leading harvesting operations in the Vologda region. KFE is a harvesting company established in 1996. The annual cut is over 360,000 m3 of timber per year. Harvesting is carried out using advanced Finnish technology based or harvesting machinery and forwarders. KFE has its own fleet of harvesting and transport equipment, and it's own terminals for timber transshipments via railway and the Volgo Balt channel to Europe. The annual cut of "Kovzha" is more then 200.000 m3 of round timber per year. "Kovzha" has an ample round wood base and capacity for significant winter storage of timber. After joining NTC Group the enterprise began to work using Finnish machinery. Shipping capacity has been improved and it has enabled NTC to carry out loading of larger size vessels simultaneously. In Autumn 2003 "Severlesprom" joined the NTC group. It is situated in the Vytegra district of Vologda region. The annual cut of Severlesprom is 148,000 m3 per year. A convenient location near the Volgo-Balt cannel provides for efficient shipping logistics. "Ustiales" is the biggest harvesting and wood-working enterprises, one of the leading timber plants in the Arkhangelsk region. "Ustiales" logs timber in coniferous forests (70%) and foliaceous forests (30%). The annual cut is more then 410 000 m3 of timber per year. |
